We appreciate Rod Arquette affording a few minutes of air time to talk about Mary Ellen Gulch and private land issues. Had there been more time I would have shared that the Director of EPA Superfund Assessment contacted me and has concerns for what is / has taken place in AF Canyon. Snowbird is on their radar for heavy metals, Tibble Fork, and the river systems that now have 8500 tons of heavy metal sediment all the way from Tibble Fork into Secondary water systems.

The est. 1.7 million pounds of heavy metals / sediment won’t just go away magically. Snowbird did not inherit the abandoned mines, rather they actively pursued and bought these. We have been told that Snowbird would send out a letter to those who had mine claims that Snowbird was trying to buy – suggesting that the liability of the mine claim was something to be concerned with, and that by selling to Snowbird, the owner of the mine claim would not have to worry about financial liability.

If anyone who reads this, did sell land in the past to Snowbird, and can produce a copy of a letter like unto this, we would love to hear from you. If so, please send a copy of the letter to americanforkcanyon@gmail.com
