What’s for Dinner? Becker-Obama Creating a National Monument in Utah County without Utah County at the table. Why?
Federalizing Utah’s Canyons and Water is a Becker-Obama Dream with a AF Canyon deal sweetener Snowbird. Mountain Accord (Becker’s Bus)
- Creates Wasatch National Monument in Utah County – Hyper Federalizes Utah from Millcreek to Lindon
- Utah County net loss of 415 Public Land acres
- Salt Lake County net gain of 1,017 Public Land acre
SLC Mayor Becker’s NIMBY (not in my back yard) is selfish. SLC controls all the water to Solitude, Brighton, Alta, and Snowbird, but demands Snowbird expansion must be in Utah County. Why can’t Snowbird expand in Salt Lake County where the UTA ski buses already run?
SLC gave enough water to Snowbird for 3,000 houses. Snowbird wanted water for 6,000 houses ($2 Billion). To date, Snowbird has used 1,200 water connections leaving a surplus of 1,800 for expansion in Salt Lake County. We want Snowbird to succeed in Salt Lake County
Becker-McAdams don’t want that expansion in their canyons, so they give Snowbird 416 acres in AF Canyon to force expansion into AF Canyon via “Mountain Accord” a non-legal entity.
Becker-McAdams additionally seeks to take 25,000 acres of private property in Salt Lake County by laying a new Federal National Monument over this private land already confiscated and devalued Salt Lake County Foothill Canyon Overlay Zone (FCOZ) regulations, and SLC extra territorial watershed authority.
SLC using its $3.7 Billion unregulated “Public Utility” to hoard 500,000 acre-feet of water, and hoard 25,000 acres of canyon land outside SLC corporate boundaries now wants to Federalize private property from Millcreek to Lindon. Becker even won’t put conservation easements his 25,000 canyon acres.
Becker sought to Federalize Utah’s water with SB35, now wants to super size Federal control of local lands from Millcreek to Lindon. Why?
“It’s once in a life time,” says Becker. Yes, it will be. Local control of our land will be lost forever.
If you like Eastern control of Western land and water, then climb on the Becker-McAdams Obama Mountain Accord bus. If you don’t, don’t get on the bus to Federal canyon lands.
