Ray Gardner of Snowbird states how wonderful they are and just one lift to tram and one to connect to
Alta. He also states Forest Service said it is all on private land and they have no problem with it
2/18/1997-PROPOSED ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT TO SECTION 5-5B-25 CE-1 ZONE TO ALLOW SKI LIFTS-
Robert Eastman (Forest Service) stated they had only met once with Snowbird but was concerned that
project needed to be better coordinated and a decision would be premature. Said this should go to
commissioners, salt lake and Wasatch counties. Request continued to 3/18/1997-want more definitive
from Forest Service. FOUND NO RECORDS OF MARCH 18 MEETING.
3/25/1997-SET DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING CHANGED FROM PERMITTED USE TO PERMITTED
CONDITIONAL USE-Mendenhall states planning commission recommends this amendment after several
months of input???Herbert wants to look at both uses (conditional and permitted)

LAKE COUNTY IN THE MINERAL BASIN AREA ON SNOWBIRD RESORT PROPERTY.
Herbert informed those present a hearing was held April 7, 2003 where they already took public
comment. (Held with Salt Lake County ) In 2002 a statutory change was made to be able to change
within 1000 feet- motion made to close public hearing.
